Dog Park Fence Program: Release The Hounds is passionate about dogs having access to run, play and socialize. According to the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (avsab.org) poor socialization can lead to behavior problems later in life. In fact, “Behavior issues, not infectious diseases are the number one cause of death for dogs under three years of age.” We believe all communities should have access to dog parks! By writing to our local government officials, sponsoring fence builds for dog parks, and building awareness in the community with your giving we will sponsor many fence builds for off-leash dog parks in and around the area!

As of July 1, 2024, we have presented three proposals for fence builds for the first off-leash dog park in Hickman County at existing public park areas. Once an official resolution is made we will post the progress! In the meantime raise your voice and help spread the word in the Hickman County community that Hickman County desperately needs areas to safely exercise our dogs and one way to meet this need is with providing off-leash dog parks!
